500,000 reasons why all Kubota machines should be equipped with a Cellutrak tracking system
To end the long Thanksgiving weekend, on October 8, 2018 at 9:52 p.m., 9 vehicles were stolen in Mirabel, including 5 Kubota machines worth $375,000, 3 trailers and 1 truck from a company excavation of Mirabel. These vehicles were transported from the excavation company's headquarters approximately 18 km away to an isolated area in Ste-Sophie, Quebec. The excavation company realized that the machines had been stolen on October 9 at dawn. Fortunately for this company, the vehicles belonging to the Kubota Center in the Laurentians had been equipped with a Cellutrak device for theft prevention and inventory management.
Cellutrak customer service was able to provide the Mirabel City Police Department with a full snapshot of what had happened and the location of the vehicles every 15 minutes. This information was essential to obtain an arrest warrant and to secure the vehicles less than 24 hours after the theft. In wooded areas where there are no roads, the system still manages to provide a satellite image to help police recover heavy machinery. Not only were the 9 vehicles found, but the police made 2 arrests and the investigation is ongoing. The machines were returned to the dealer and the excavation company on the evening of October 9. The general manager of the Center Kubota des Laurentides was certainly satisfied with the Cellutrak service,
The power of the Cellutrak device was able to lead the police directly to the scene of the crime and to recover not only the Kubota machines equipped with Cellutrak systems, but also the 8 other stolen vehicles. The insurance deductible savings alone justifies the price of a Cellutrak device. See the article in French for more information.
